Rational IT’s R/Central Central IT Operations is the network nerve
center for supporting all elements of the R/One suite of services.
The enterprise applications and tools that form the Ratio
infrastructure are centrally housed and maintained in R/Central.
R/Central houses the R/One Practice Libraries where all planning,
solution, and incident support models are stored. It houses three
versions of the Ratio Practice Platform, the complete toolset used
by Rational IT technical and project management – one each for
SureView IT Planning services, SureStep IT Implementation Services,
and SureResponse Managed IT Services.
The R/Net IT Management Portal is the window into all R/Central
resources.
|
 |
R/Central houses the Profile Repository that catalogs all client
systems receiving by SureResponse IT Management Services and also
hosts SureResponse Remote Monitoring and Management services.
R/Central allows us to operate faster, more accurately and with
robust control of quality of service, and at lower overall cost,
making our R/One suite of IT services competitive as well as
compelling.
The Essential R/Central
Without R/Central our Ratio IT Practices would be … manual. R/Central is
the “platform under the process.”

All
access to R/Central resources is through the secure R/Net IT
Management Portal. Access to data is controlled by secure profiles and
all data traffic is encrypted. Remote monitoring and remote management
are delivered via secure VPN connections.
R/Central is comprised of
three “environments.”

R/Central is augmented by an
extended of Regional Network Operations Centers, or R/NOC’s. The R/NOC’s
provide redundancy in both operational capacity and capability and
connectivity.
